This summer course is especially aimed at Architecture students, practitioners and researchers. It is also appropriate for students from different backgrounds, interested in the current trends in Mediterranean urban and rural architecture. The Union of Mediterranean Architects (UMAR) will communicate the event to border audiences all over the Mediterranean region as well as each of the 13th Member-States. The UNIA will also communicate the event and expand the awareness, especially at the local level.
The course is structured in three types of teaching/learning practices: theoretical, theoretical-practical and laboratory. The 4 days module will provide a platform for an immersive cooperation between Mediterranean young architects and students. Beyond the emphasis on making, aspects of materiality, the environment, programmatic performance and human well- being will also be considered. Proposals for the display of information about “After the City” may also be considered during the course but production and installation of these elements will take place at a later stage.
